Providing consent for a 14 or 15 year old referee

Modified on Tue, 12 Apr 2022 at 03:23 PM

In order to register to referee next season, 14 and 15 year old referees will need to ensure their parents/carers have given them permission from within "MyAccount".

If the parent/carer has not given consent then when the 14/15 year old referee tries to register they will receive the message beginning with "Referees aged 15 or younger cannot register without a parent/carer's consent ..."

Step One: Parent/Carer signs into "MyAccount"

The first step is for the parent/carer to sign into: https://myaccount.thefa.com using their email address and password. Guidance on signing in can be found here: Sign in guidance

Step Two: Ensure you are linked to your child/youth referee

Once signed in, you will need to ensure you are linked to your child/youth referee. This can be found underneath the "Individuals header (image below). If you cannot see your child/youth referee linked, please contact your County FA who will be able to link your accounts together

Warning: Please do not create a new individual as this will create a duplicate record without your child/youth referee's details on it

Step Three: Select your child/youth referee

Next - please click on the child/youth referee who wishes to register

Step Four: Tick box confirming consent

Finally, please scroll down to the "Referee" section of your child's account and tick the box which provides consent for the youth referee to register
